EDC saves time during conversion; it focuses on the areas that are typically labor-intensive and involve repetitive data entry. Spectrum's EDC consists of components in two categories, File Maintenance and Transactions:

EDC Works
In order to import existing data into Spectrum, a comma-delimited text file must be created using your data. To simplify this process, Dexter + Chaney provides layouts of the required files and Microsoft Access templates. Once you have your comma-delimited files prepared and edited, each file may be quickly imported into Spectrum.
Catching and fixing errors is easy with EDC's error-handling feature. Errors appear on an Exception Report with exact record and error type references, allowing you to quickly identify the problem record in your source file to make appropriate changes.

Your MIS group or technical consultant may choose to implement Spectrum's EDC without assistance. Basic Assistance:
Provides answers to questions relating to file layouts and the EDC process, along with formatting assistance.
In-House Conversion:
Send us your data in an ASCII format. Our specialists format your data, import the data into related Spectrum files, and return the converted data to you.
Data Extraction Service:
Dexter + Chaney may be able to provide assistance with extracting data from your existing accounting system into files ready to be imported into Spectrum.
On-Site Conversion:
Our highest level of service provides an on-site conversion specialist to format the data files and perform the EDC process for you. This service is scheduled in conjunction with on-site training.
