SEATTLE, August 11, 2015: Dexter + Chaney, providers of Spectrum® Construction Software, is pleased to announce that business partner and licensed Spectrum reseller OnPoint Software Consulting Inc. has significantly expanded its operations. Longtime construction industry technology consultant Tom Cofer has joined OnPoint as a partner, and the company will add Louisiana and northern Texas to its growing sales and consulting portfolio for Dexter + Chaney. OnPoint has already been serving as a software consultant and reseller for Dexter + Chaney’s Spectrum product in Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas, as well as the surrounding metro areas of Kansas City and St. Louis.

Founded in 1989 by Mike Pieczynski, CPA, OnPoint Software Consulting provides software products and consulting services to the construction industry. Adding Tom Cofer to the team, Pieczynski said, is a significant growth move—both for OnPoint and Dexter + Chaney.

Tom built a very important and strong organization throughout the 1980s and has long been a critical player in the construction technology field,” Pieczynski said. “He was instrumental in helping construction companies make sure their missions were successful back when the market was moving to client-server technology and he has helped companies navigate through another significant technology shift today. It’s only natural we have Tom on board with us to help clients understand their technology options and ensure they fit their needs.”

Cofer founded Constructive Business Systems Inc. (CBSI) in 1984 and quickly became a significant force in the construction industry. Over the next 20 plus years CBSI ultimately became one of the largest, most respected, and consistently successful organizations in the nation providing construction technology and software solutions. Previous to founding CBSI, Cofer was employed in technology roles at leading general contractor, electrical contractor, and mechanical contractors in the Dallas metro area.

As a partner with OnPoint, Cofer will be focused on all aspects of business development. Pieczynski said Cofer’s 35-plus years of experience with construction technology as well as reputation for building deep levels of trust and integrity with clients were key factors in the partnership agreement. Cofer noted a lot of similarities between OnPoint and his own companies.

“There is unprecedented commitment to clients and that’s one of the key things that attracted me to this opportunity,” Cofer said. “We both want to see companies succeed not just in the short term, but in the long term. We both feel the best results are gained for our clients by truly listening to them and working closely with them to understand and fulfill their business needs. We both want to help companies figure out strategies, as well as make technology choices. We’re not just trying to sell you a piece of software. We want to partner with you for the long-haul and ensure that your company grows.”

Pieczynski added this was same approach to clients that drew OnPoint to Dexter + Chaney just over a year ago. “We were extremely excited to partner with and sell solutions for Dexter + Chaney. This is a software provider that listens to, understands, and acts for its customers.”

Dexter + Chaney President Norbert Orth said that OnPoint bringing Cofer on as a partner is an exciting prospect for future growth.

“OnPoint has already been a tremendous advocate for Dexter + Chaney in the Midwest and Southern U.S. markets, and Cofer’s reputation and experience will further our own message of building relationships with clients,” Orth said. “We’re thrilled to have Cofer, Pieczynski and the entire OnPoint team on board with us.”
