General Contractors Selects Dexter + Chaney’s Spectrum®  Construction Software

SEATTLE, April 19, 2016: Needing to replace its outdated construction accounting software and expand to a more complete ERP system, San Antonio, Texas-based Joeris General Contractors chose Dexter + Chaney’s Spectrum® Construction Software after an extensive vetting process. “We really liked Spectrum’s open interface and architecture,” said Joeris Controller Ryan Doege. “With Spectrum being web-based, it allows us to truly open access to our teams in the field. Not being tied down to a computer workstation or having to rely on a separate VPN network for connections, it will allow us to work efficiently in the field and have access to the information we need at all times. The company had outgrown the capabilities of its previous construction accounting software Maxwell Management Suite and was faced with that software no longer being supported when it was acquired by another company. “We looked at the options available to us and liked what we saw when we visited Dexter + Chaney’s booth at the 2015 World of Concrete trade show.”

Several online and then onsite demos later, Joeris knew it had found the integrated software package it was looking for to tie together operations and get it’s teams in the office and the field working together from the same page.

“Spectrum’s Document Imaging and Workflow capabilities will allow us to streamline our processes and ensure that our approvals procedures run efficiently all the way through our company. This will allow us to save significant time and ensure that we’re paying our vendors quicker and moving our projects along like we need them to,” Doege said. “On the payroll side, we were using manual processes before. Individuals were filling out their time on hard copies or in an Excel file and sending that into the office. That was 375 different data entries each week. Now we’re using the (Payroll Time Entry) mobile app. Being able to push that data to the office electronically and having it import directly to Spectrum for approvals—that has saved us a whole day of work each week.”

Doege added that Spectrum’s Employee Kiosk, which provides employees with a portal to view their pay stubs, W2s and other employee information, was another big draw.

“One of the key things we saw in Spectrum was the opportunity to become truly paperless, which is an initiative we began awhile back by moving to more electronic documents,” Doege noted.
