Executive Chairman

John Chaney

John Chaney, CPA/MBA, co-founded Dexter + Chaney with Mark Dexter in 1981 after working together at the Seattle office of Arthur Andersen & Co. They decided to form their own company after determining there was a market need for construction management software for construction companies with $1 million or more in annual sales.

John is an active member of the Construction Financial Management Association's Puget Sound chapter and is a former member of the chapter's board of directors and a former chairman of its Academic Scholarship Committee. John is an industry leader in the design of construction management software and is a frequent contributor to major industry magazines. He earned his Masters of Business Administration from University of Washington and his Bachelor of Science from University of the Pacific.

President and CEO

Norbert Orth

Norbert Orth, Dexter + Chaney’s President and CEO, joined the team in 2011 and provides the strategic guidance and leadership that keeps Dexter + Chaney at the head of the pack when it comes to client satisfaction and technology innovation. Norbert brings more than 25 years experience from executive leadership roles ranging from large multinational firms to technology start-ups. His responsibilities encompass all aspects of strategic planning and operational execution for Dexter + Chaney products and services. Norbert holds a degree in business from the University of Washington.

Chief Financial Officer

Brian Rice

After beginning his career in public accounting in both the Seattle and Paris offices of Ernst & Young, Brian moved on to private industry, including Trillium Corporation in Bellingham, Washington and was co-founder and CFO of a Bay Area venture-backed medical device start-up company.

Brian has been a software technology CFO for the last 10 years, including NetMotion Wireless, enterprise mobile VPN software developer, and LexBlog a social media professional development Company. Brian graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BBA in accounting, including a French & international business specialization.

VP Strategy

Scott Rosenbloom

Scott has more than 30 years of experience in the technology space spanning, development, consulting, technical sales, product management and corporate development. In that time, his career has spanned the gamut from very large organizations such as IBM and Microsoft as well as smaller ISV’s in security and enterprise software space. Scott joined Dexter + Chaney in 2014 arriving most recently from Microsoft where he held several roles including developer evangelism, product management and enterprise sales.

Scott’s focus at Dexter + Chaney is to build on the success of Spectrum and help exploit the state of the art in new areas of mobility and cloud technologies. Scott also has responsibility for 3rd party integration and partnerships. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Illinois and a Master of Science in Data and Telecommunications from Pace University.

VP Development

Bill Neel

Bill Neel oversees the enhancement, maintenance, installation, documentation, and quality assurance efforts for Spectrum Construction Suite. He works with a staff of more than 20 talented individuals. "Our goal is to solve our customer's problems, and make them more efficient in running their business," said Bill. "We are always seeking to improve in all areas to meet that goal." Bill became Development Manager in 2005 and was named to his current position in January 2008. Bill joined Dexter + Chaney in July 1992 as a programmer. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The University of Washington.

SVP Sales & Marketing

Eric Newton

Eric Newton, CPA joined the Dexter + Chaney team in 2015 as SVP of Sales and Marketing. Eric has over 25 years of experience in Construction. Eric started his career in public accounting in 1984 primarily auditing construction companies. He then went to work for one of his clients, International Utility Supply Corporation, as its controller before returning to the construction industry as Secretary/Treasurer/CFO for Edward M. Chadbourne, Inc. in 1991. In 1998, he moved to the technology side as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Cheetah Advanced Technologies, Inc. In 2004, he joined the construction focused firm of Davidson, Golden and Lundy, CPAs as Senior Manager and Director of Construction Accounting Systems. In 2007 Eric started the construction division for Comdata as the SVP of Vertical Markets and grew this new vertical for Comdata to over 1,000 construction customers including many of the ENR top 400 contractors in less than 8 years.

Eric has a B.S. in Accounting from Louisiana College and passed the CPA exam in 1991.

VP Customers

Curt Westberg

Curt Westberg, Dexter + Chaney's Vice President of Heavy/Highway Sales, joined the team in August of 1994 as Regional Account Manager. He assumed the National Sales Manager position in June, 2003, after successfully selling Spectrum Construction Suite for nine years. He was named Vice President in January of 2008. Curt is responsible for growing and managing all facets of the sales effort at Dexter + Chaney. A true Cougar, Curt holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Washington State University, and a Master of Arts in Literature, from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
